Process
How our AI SEO process works
AI SEO works by measuring how AI search tools currently answer your buyers’ questions, finding out why your brand is or is not included, fixing the causes you control, and re-testing the same questions over time to prove what changed.
Five phases, one baseline
Every phase is tied back to the prompts we measured at the start.
Benchmark
We agree the services, locations and competitors that matter, build a set of real buyer prompts and record how ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews answer them today — who is named, who is cited and how accurately you are described.
Diagnose
We trace every gap to a cause: AI crawlers blocked, pages that are hard to extract from, an unclear brand entity, weak third-party corroboration or missing technical SEO foundations.
Prioritise
Findings become a single roadmap, ranked by likely impact and effort, so the first month of work goes on the changes that matter most.
Optimise
We implement or brief the fixes: technical access, answer-first content, structured data, profile alignment and earned mentions on trusted sources.
Measure and repeat
The same prompt set is re-tested on a schedule and reported with rankings and AI referral traffic, so decisions are based on trends rather than one-off screenshots.
Why we start with a baseline
AI answers vary from one session to the next, so a single screenshot proves very little. A fixed set of prompts, run the same way each time, lets us separate real change from noise and show you whether the work is paying off.
How AI search chooses what to show
Tools such as ChatGPT search and Google AI Overviews retrieve pages, pick passages that answer the question and summarise them with citations. To be chosen, a page has to be crawlable, relevant, trustworthy and easy to quote — and the brand behind it has to be clearly understood and well corroborated elsewhere. That is what our process targets.

FAQs
Process questions
How long does the audit take?
Timing depends on the size of your site and prompt set. We confirm it before we start, along with exactly what you will receive.
Do you make the changes, or do we?
Either. We can implement changes directly, brief your developer or content team, or split the work — whatever suits your resources.
Which AI platforms do you test?
Typically ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, and Microsoft Copilot. We adjust the list to where your customers are.
